Hello!

A universally accepted word that is used to start a conversation. Lets see where it takes us....

A bit about me.....

Hello I'm Laura Gilroy

I have always felt a natural pull towards helping others, which has shaped my journey into roles focused on supportive and therapeutic relationships.

I am a qualified therapist with a Master’s degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from Leeds Beckett University. My experience has largely been shaped by working within palliative care hospices, where I have supported individuals navigating loss, grief and bereavement, alongside carers and those living with terminal illness.

I am drawn to working with grief because I recognise how deeply loss can affect emotional wellbeing. I offer a compassionate and supportive space where people can explore their feelings, make sense of their experience, and find a way forward that feels right for them.

Outside the therapy room, I’m a big music fan and love going to live gigs whenever I can (usually if I can get a ticket). I enjoy spending time with family and friends, wherever we end up, and making the most of the outdoors walking my dog.

My HomeSpace

I offer a dedicated counselling space within my home, designed to be calm, private, and comfortable, helping you to feel supported and at ease during your sessions.

My therapeutic process...

My approach to therapy is straightforward, I listen with care to your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and tailor our work to what feels most important to you. I believe a supportive and trusting relationship is central to the therapeutic process.

As an integrative therapist, I tailor my approach using a range of methods to suit your individual needs and preferences.  I am also open to working creatively, particularly when finding the right words feels difficult.

I will be forever thankful for all your help, listening and support through one of the saddest most difficult parts of my life.
Having you to talk to each week, where I could say anything was so important, for you to guide me to a better place and face things I thought I couldn't.
Thank you so much for all the support during our sessions. You are incredibly easy to talk to and one of the most caring people I have met.
